BoatsWhy use Property Search Turkey?

There are three main issues that may make you consider using a property search service to help find your ideal property. The first is time, the second is peace of mind and the third is simplicity.

From our own experience, we know how frustrating it is trying to look for property during a short visit to Turkey, not to mention wasting valuable holiday time. It's even more annoying if you make a special visit and find that the properties you are looking at fail to meet your carefully laid-down criteria. Unfortunately, this means that it's all too easy to make a rash decision on the last day of your stay, ending up with a property that doesn't suit you, may not be legal or isn't really in the right location.

When we undertake a property search, we try to ensure that any properties we recommend fit your criteria as closely as possible. If we think it is not going to be possible to do so, then we will tell you at the outset, giving clear reasons. You can then decide whether you want to redefine your criteria or attempt to find the impossible yourself without incurring a fee!

Over the last few years, the rules regarding property ownership in Turkey have changed several times and some property owners have found themselves with land or properties that can no longer be sold to foreigners. However, that doesn't mean that they won't still try to pass them on to an unsuspecting foreign buyer, telling them that they can set up a company to own the property or put it in the name of a Turkish person.  Both of these practices are against the spirit of the law, so it is highly likely that you would receive no assistance from a Turkish Court of Law if something were to go wrong.

By using our search service, you can be assured that we would never recommend a property unless we are confident that: 1) it is eligible for foreign ownership; 2) it is possible to obtain clean title; 3) the property has been built legally, both in terms of building control and planning laws.

Once you have purchased your property, you will need to open a bank account, obtain a tax registration number, have the utilities transferred into your own name and organise household insurance.  We will assist you with all of these tasks as part of our search service, at no extra cost.  We can also assist you with shopping for your new home – either together with you, or on your behalf according to your instructions - and arrange redecoration or repairs in your absence, all of which can be time consuming.

If you are planning to rent out your property, or have a garden/pool which needs to be looked after in your absence, we can put you in touch with a reputable organisation who can undertake this on your behalf.
